Thanks to Megan, we have scans of every page from the Heffron and Fitzgerald book.
Heffron and Fitzgerald were General Contractors that worked across Southern Minnesota in the 1920s and early 1930's when they shut down due to the Great Depression.
The Heffron and Fitzgerald partnership was formed on Sept 1, 1919. Ten days later, on Sept. 11, 1919, William Fitzgerald and Kathleen Moonan were married at Sacred Heart Church in Waseca, MN.
We will publish each scan, titled with its building name, including page numbers - as separate, sequential posts. Then later posts - with photos, text, etc about specific buildings - can be always wired directly to the appropriate source photo/scan.
Naming protocols - we will use the prefix 'HF Book', followed by page numbers where available, followed by the full name of the building cited in the Heffron and Fitzgerald book.
The plan is to post these consectutively within the month of June 2023, so they can be easily referenced by date in the site archive.
All family members are welcome to add additional photos of Grandfather Billy's buildings. These can include photos, newspaper storeies, etc.
Enjoy!
NOTES:
Copies of the Heffron and Fitzgerald book still show up occassionally on sites like eBay.
Martin Heffron was 72 years old at the time of the formation of their partnership in 1919. Mr. Heffron died in November 1939 at the age of 90.
