1811, June. Mary A. Kirnan born in County Derry, Ireland. Her first marriage was to McDevitt, and that marriage produced two sons named McDevitt. Marriage to Peter McCloskey was in Ireland.

1814, June 4. Peter McCloskey born in Townland of Strannaghailly, County Tyrone, Ireland.

1847 (Spring). Mary A. Kirnan (McDevitt by first marriage) comes from County Derry Ireland to Philadelphia, PA with two sons, moves to Kentucky in the fall and stays there for four years when she moved to Galena, IL; she lived there until 1855 (married to Peter McCloskey in MN?) (1)

1855. Mary A. Kirnan moves from Galena, IL to High Forest Township in Olmstead County, MN, south of Rochester (marries Peter McCloskey there?) and lives there until 1865 when she moves to her daughter Mary Ann (McCloskey) Fitzgerald home in Rochester.

1857, Dec. 22. Birth of Mary Ann McCluskey, in High Forest Township, NN, only child of Peter, third child of his wife Mary Ann who had two sons born in Ireland fathered by her first husband named McDevitt.

1859. St. Bridget’s near Simpson, MN - the oldest Catholic church in Olmsted County.

1868. Peter McCloskey is on the Board of Directors for the St. Matthew’s Temperance Group at St. Bridget’s near Simpson in High Forest Township.

1879 (or 1874) Mary Ann McCloskey, age 22 (or 17) marries Richard Fitzgerald, age 29 (or 24)

1886. Mary Ann McCloskey and Richard Fitzgerald – birth of James - fourth child of Richard and Mary Ann Fitzgerald.

1887. Mary Ann McCloskey and Richard Fitzgerald – birth of William - fifth child of Richard and Mary Ann Fitzgerald. (called Billy) was born on July 20, in Rochester Minnesota , the fifth of nine children. (in school the nuns insisted he needed a middle name and gave him Aloysius, but he only used the initial). The family home was a one story frame house to which sections were added as the family grew. The address was 111 N. Grant Street (now 7th Ave. NW ). Later Billy replaced with a new home on the same land.

1888. Mary Ann McCloskey and Richard Fitzgerald – birth of Catherine – sixth child – first daughter - of Richard and Mary Ann Fitzgerald.

1889. Peter McCluskey dies of cancer at age 70. High Forest Township

1890. Mary Ann McCloskey and Richard Fitzgerald – birth of George - seventh child of Richard and Mary Ann Fitzgerald.

1891. Mary Kirnan McCloskey - Dad’s Grandmother moves to Rochester to live with her daughter and Richard Fitzgerald, Billy’s parents.

1894. Mary Ann McCloskey and Richard Fitzgerald – birth of Leo J. - eighth child of Richard and Mary Ann Fitzgerald.

1897. Mary Ann McCloskey and Richard Fitzgerald – birth of Mary Loretta (Molly) – ninth child of Richard and Mary Ann Fitzgerald.

I've seen these 4-shot collections in the same frame for other children in the Fitzgerald family. The photographer was Sterns in Rochester.

Wedding Day. Sept 20, 1952. Her daughter Kattie Terrien Otto wore this dress for her own wedding years later.

This is exactly how Mom looked when cooking her famous skillet pork chops. Glasses half down her nose. The clear message was that everybody and everything should slow down and be like Mom, as she poked at the pork chops strategically. - Rick

I believe this is Kate holding new Granddaughter Sheila Mary - during a family gathering in Madison.
