“’Billy built buildings and friendships that will endure down through the years.’ This one short sentence aptly sums up the entire life of William Fitzgerald.
He was a dynamic little Irishman who enjoyed every hour of his fifty-two years to the fullest extent. As a contractor, politician, musician, executive, and according to his own modest report, a well-informed expert at any and every profession and trade.
He met people in all classes and all types. And he won the love and respect of everyone he met. Especially the respect , because I must admit there was very little love expressed between “fighting Billy” and a few political and business enemies. Still even the most bitter of his rivals admitted that Bill was always above-board, and nearly always the winner.”
Photo labeled Billy Fitzgerald by his daughter Sheila Mary Fitzgerald. I was told this photo was probably from a fishing camp or club on a small lake near Waseca that the Moonans shared with others.
