MARY FITZGERALD
December 6, 1929 – March 6, 2013 Mary Fitzgerald, age 83, of New Prague, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at her home. Mary was born December 6, 1929 in New Prague, to Charles W. & Hildegard M. (Rosendahl) Mach. Mary attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School, New Prague High School, College of St. Catherine, the University of Minnesota, and St. Cloud State University. She married John M. Fitzgerald at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague on May 5, 1951. Mary was a homemaker and lifelong resident of New Prague. She was a Girl Scout leader, a member of the NP Historical Society, St. Wenceslaus Choir, Hymnus Choir, ST. Wenceslaus CCW, Bridge Clubs, and numerous church committees. Mary felt the world is a better place because English Bulldogs are in it – she always had one by her side!
Mary is survived by her children, Maureen (& Richard) Hunt of Blair, NE, Erin Fitzgerald of Parker, CO, Brigid Fitzgerald (& Dr. Tom Stoy) of Little Falls, MN, Sheila Fitzgerald of Tinley Park, IL, Megan (& Wolfgang) Bittermann of Heilegenkreutz, Austria, John (& Lisa) Fitzgerald of Broomfield, CO; 11 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren; sister-in-law, Geraldine Mach of Pine City, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Judge John Fitzgerald in 2008; sister, Ruth E. Svoboda; brother, Dr. Ralph Mach.
Mass of Christian Burial will occur Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Fr. Dave Barrett officiating. Visitation will take place at Bruzek Funeral Home Friday from 4 – 8 PM and Saturday morning from 7:30 – 11:30 AM. CCW Rosary will be said at 7 PM on Friday. Burial will occur at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery after mass, followed by lunch at the Park Ballroom in New Prague.
